Arsenal sign
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
from Southampton
Arsenal have signed Southampton winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for a fee reported to be worth £15m.The 17-year-old has joined on a long-term contract, costing £12m up front with a further £3m in add-ons.
The England Under-21 international, hit 10 goals in 41 games last season and helped Southampton gain promotion from League One.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said: "We are looking forward to him fulfilling his huge potential with Arsenal."
Well, well, well, another Youngster with potential at Arsenal, the key word here is potential! He just isnt ready yet! Arsenal IMO need to start signing players that are ready to go straight into their line-up and contribute from the off. Surely Arsene must've realised this by now they havent won a title for years and with signings like Alex, it will be another 5 years or so before they do win anything.
Now, i have nothing against Alex as i think he will become a top player in the next 2-3years, its just as i see it it Arsenal need players in central defence and other positions and getting in young unproven wingers isn't the way forward!
