My Premier League 2011-12
Top 6 Predictions!

So the start of the new Premier League season is only a day away! I, for one cant wait for it to get underway I feel this could be one of the best seasons in a while, I think it will be between 3 teams for the title which i will talk about more below, I will also do my predictions for the relegation teams a bit later today.
1st
Yep, that's right i can't see Man Utd getting toppled off the top spot this year, they realised they were going to come under pressure this year by Man City and have gone out and improved there squad even more with some really top signings. The signings that Ferguson have made are players that have proved they can perform in the Premier League and he will have no worries putting the likes of Ashley Young straight into his line-up, even Phil Jones who I've seen on a few occasions this pre-season looks a cracking signing, they are building for the future as well as now, they have the future England centre backs in their ranks that will have them with good central defenders for the next 10 years!  The signing of David De Gea is either going to be a brilliant signing or just not work out, The stat that worried me when i heard it on EPSN was the fact that he conceded the most goals from outside the area in La Liga last season :/ If teams hear that they are going to be shooting from all angles! Despite that I still cant see United missing out on top sport this season, Chelsea haven't improved enough and I don't feel Mancini's tactics are anywhere good enough to win the league! Sorry to say this Man Utd fans but although I see you winning the league I can't see you winning the Champions League unless Barcelona get knocked out, they again are going to be unstoppable this season and with what looks like the signing of Fabregas imminent it can only improve them.

Don't know why I've gone for Chelsea second, but something is just telling me Man City wont be as good as people think they will be, I just don't think Mancini is up to the job of making a team a title challenger. As for Chelsea they made there big signings last January, I see them having a decent season, the likes of Torres and Luiz will come good i reckon. I can see Torres getting 15+ goals this season and Luiz forming a great partnership with Terry. I can see a Sturridge, Torres and Lukaku strike force been deadly! Its just in that central midfield that Chelsea are lacking a little bit, Lampard maybe is starting to show signs of ageing along with Malouda. if they sign a central midfielder like Luka Modric to cover Essien's injury (again) they should be up there. I also think Lukaku will be a cracking signing! However I cant see them keeping touch with Man Utd all season!

Well, well, well, they have the best squad to challenge for the title BUT there's just one thing stopping them playing their expressive, dominating football and that's thing is Roberto Mancini, he doesn't seem to me to be the sort of manager that is good enough at putting together a title challenge every game he goes into he seems far too defensive, even against teams in the relegation zone! I feel with a better manager in charge they could win the league, no doubt about it, they have the players to win most leagues! Players like David Silva should be able to express themselves but Mancini seems to dampen that somehow. The signing of Aguero is brilliant but unlike Ferguson who has signed already tested Premier League player's, Aguero may take time to adjust to the power of the Premier League. Meaning they might be relying on goals from Dzeko and Balotelli early on :/ However if Tevez stays they could win the league, that's how good i think he is!

Liverpool are a tough team to predict for this coming season, they have made some top signings this summer and the players they signed from January have half a season under their belts. I can see the Carroll, Suarez partnership really bearing fruits this year, i think they will work together really well, Carroll winning the high balls and bringing Suarez into play, and then we have the crossing ability of Adam and Downing in the team now who could supply balls to Carroll's head all game long. They look close to completing the signing of Jose Enrique who i am a big fan of and I think he will sure up the defence, allowing Johnson to slot back to right back and Carragher and Agger in central defence makes their defence have a more solid look about it! I really like what Kenny is doing at Liverpool he has improved the squad massively I reckon a top 4 finish this season would be a great achievement then they have the foundations in place to challenge for the title the year after!

Again, at the end of last season i was thinking surely Wenger has noticed he needs to make some top, top signings BUT he seems to have not taken that advice on board, apart from Gervinho who looks a great signing from what I've seen in pre-season,  they haven't really improved the squad! The signing of Oxlade- Chamberlain must be really frustrating for Arsenal fans who want success right now! He wont make it to his potential until the next 3-4 year in my opinion and the Arsenal fans want trophies now! It is clear to be Arsenal still need 3-4 top signings to compete anywhere near the top of the league, they need another striker with a proven record in case Van Persie gets injured. The main part of the team that needs improving is the defence! they've even lost arguably there best defender in Clichy to Man City! They need a new left back and a strong central defender that is going to dominate opponents striker! Could be a tough season for the Arsenal fans!

I like Tottenham as a team but i dont think they are in the best position to put up a big challenge for the top 4 this year, they've signed what should be a solid keeper in Friedel and that is about it, they have pretty much put all their focus this season on keeping Luka Modric. Which is great if they can keep him but do you really want a player at your club that doesn't want to stay, I personally think they should just sell him and use the money to bring in a couple of top players. I feel they need a new striker and maybe a left winger, I also think they should Giovani Dos Santos more chances to shine as he always looks a top player when I've seen him play. Tottenham have a lot of players with potential this season and they need them to show that potential this season to keep them in with a shout at  the top 4, the likes of Aaron Lennon, Jermain Defoe, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Younes Kaboul, Tom Huddlestone, anf they have to be able to rely on Friedel to makes the saves! Going to be a tough year for Spurs!
