West Ham United Vs Cardiff City
0-1: Championship

RATINGS:
West Ham:
Robert Green – Well green was having a decent game until the 1st minute of injury time, In the first half his handling looked good and was forced into a couple of decent saves. You just have that feeling with green that a mistake could come any time and for Millers goal the ball went straight through his hands and into the net. - 5
Joey O’Brien – Looked like one of West hams best players today, brilliant play down the right early on where he went on a mazy run past the opposition full back then pulled it back to Sears who skied his effort at goal. Impressive going forward and defended well, top display from the former Bolton man. - 7.5
Winston Reid – Not a bad performance today, defended well and sheparded out of play well on a couple of occasions, really strong in the air and looks a powerful unit. Gave away a scrappy free-kick once which wasn’t punished but a good display from him today. - 6
James Tomkins – Strong today, winning everything in the air, came in a bit too sharply once to give a way a free-kick but other than that done well, not given strikers a chance. - 6.5
Herita Ilunga – First half he played well, combined well on a couple of occasions with Taylor. He let himself down last on however, he was caught dwelling on the ball in left back he lost the ball and Cardiff went onto score from it. - 5
Scott Parker – Not the best display I’ve ever seen from him today, did well on a couple of occasions to get crosses into the box but just seemed a bit sluggish at times and not his usual self. Needs to have more of an influence on the game, because he can be a top player on his day. - 6
Mark Noble – Didn’t see too much of him today, he switched play well on a couple of occasions but needs to have more impact in the game to show his true ability. - 6
Kevin Nolan – Played ok today probably should’ve scored late on when he had a free header from a few yards out which he only just got a glancing header on. Did ok but would like to see him bursting forward a bit more. – 6.5
Freddie Sears – Didn’t have a good game at all today, had a couple of chances to cross in but either over-hit it or it just hit the first man. Also when O’Brien broke well down the right he cut the ball back to Sears who skied his effort over the bar, was a really decent chance as well. - 5
Matt Taylor – My MOTM! Looked really impressive today, he spread play well trying to switch the ball whenever possible to create space. Played a neat through ball to parker which he should’ve done better from. Hit a cracking free-kick which pulled a top save from Marshall, his left foot was in fine form throughout combined well with Ilunga. Possibly the best player first half didn’t give the ball away, and set up some decent opportunities. Cracking strike tipped away in the second, looks a good signing from Big Sam. -7.5
Frederic Piquionne – Looked good for the first 25 mins, a couple of good runs and got the first shot of the game on target, won a lot in the air which is good as that was the only service he was been provided with long balls towards his head. - 6.5
SUBS:
Jack Collison – Came on and did ok not really given enough time to impress fully couple of nice touches and few neat passes but not enough time to shine. - 6
Carlton Cole – Did well when he came on, won everything in the air and was aggressive in keeping hold of the ball would’ve liked to have seen him on the pitch longer than he was given. - 6
