Simon Vukcevic set to complete Blackburn switch
Blackburn Rovers are expected to complete the signing of midfielder Simon Vukcevic from Sporting Lisbon early this week.
The 25-year-old Montenegro player arrived at the club for a medical on Thursday and is set to become the club's fourth purchase of the summer.
The most high profile of those signings is striker David Goodwillie, who cost a reported £2.8m from Dundee United.
Rovers are bottom of the Premier League after losing their first two fixtures.
Their most recent defeat came on Saturday when they were beaten 3-1 by Aston Villa.
Vukcevic arrives at Ewood Park having spent four years at Sporting Lisbon. He signed for the Portuguese club from Saturn Moscow Oblast for 4m euros (£3.5m) in 2007.
The attacking midfielder is a regular member of the Montenegro side and featured in October's Euro 2012 qualifier against England, which ended 0-0. www.bbc.co.uk
Would be a top signing for Blackburn, he brings that extra bit of creativity that they so clearly need, the only other attacking central midfielder they have is the aging David Dunn, the rest of their central midfielders are quite defensively minded so he should bring a different dimension. Still think that they are more important areas of the team they need to address first, they only have Samba, who might be leaving and Nelsen who are good enough defenders, next up is Grant Hanley which would be a bit of a worry for me. Definitely need another centre half but Rovers fans can be happy they are able to attract the quality of Vukcevic!
