Leeds United Vs Bradford City
3-2: Carling Cup
09/08/2011

RATINGS:
Leeds United:
Andy Lonergan – Had a decent game tonight, he had no chance with either of the goals, but when he did have to make a save he handled well and looked confident, his kicking looked good on a few occasions - 6
Paul Connolly – Not his best game in a Leeds shirt today, thought the left winger seemed to get in behind him a bit too easily today, going forward he looked ok but ultimately his job is stopping the opposition from scoring which on a couple of occasions he struggled to contain the Bradford play - 5
Andy O’Brien – Really disappointed with his display today, the last couple of games he seems to have lost it, for a big lad he seemed to struggle to win anything in the air and his positional sense was poor all game, maybe cost us a bit with the first goal when he was unable to block the cross which led to the goal, seems to have lost a lot of pace over the summer. Sad to say but he could be on the decline as a player. - 4
Paddy Kisnorbo – Decent display from Paddy today, got stuck in well and covered O’Brien’s mistakes on a few occasions, looks to be back to full fitness now and is getting better game by game. Would like to see Paddy and Lee’s together at centre back. - 6
Ben Parker – Not a bad display from Ben today but I still don’t think he’s good enough, his pace lets him down massively at times, wingers seem to be able to breeze past him, and doesn’t seem too good at blocking crosses, hoping its just match practice that he needs but still feel we need to sign a new left back or give Bessone another chance. - 5
Lloyd Sam – He got on the ball a lot today but didn’t seem to have any end product, he got past the left back on a few occasions but lacked the final ball, he must’ve crossed it 5 or 6 times to no-one which was disappointing but at least he moved at pace and looked a threat. - 6
Jonny Howson – A decent display from Jonny today, at times he moved the ball well and pushed forward with some good runs, still seems to drift in and out of games which is frustrating but I’m sure the older he gets the better he will become at dominating the midfield and demanding the ball. - 6

Adam Clayton – My MOTM!
Top display from this lad, I saw him make his debut last season for Leeds and I thought he looked awful, but today he looked outstanding, he was box to box all game, got stuck in when he needed to and drove forward with power and with a desire to make things happen. Looks really comfortable on the ball and could be a great player for us this season. - 8

Michael Brown – Better than his display against Southampton, what I liked was how he spread the ball around well switching wings at every opportunity, got stuck in well, just a pity he seems to have lost a lot of pace with his age, still can do a decent job for us though. - 6
Ramon Nunez –Top display from the Honduran International today, looked really up for it from the off, he missed a great chance early on but it didn’t get him down at all, in fact it seemed to make him more determined as he ended the game with 2 goals to his name. I loved the fact that when he is on the ball he always has one thought, to drive forward and play a team mate through or have a go himself. Also liked how he closed players down today, great work put in and a fully deserved 2 goals! - 8
Ross McCormack – Great to see Ross get himself a goal today! Started off the game looking a bit nervous and missing a few opportunities due to a lack of confidence, But when that goal went in you could see his confidence grow and he was trying shots and making things happen which is great to see, he’s a top striker when on his game! – 7.5
SUBS:
Tom Lees – Great to see Tom get on today, was  very impressed with him on loan at Bury last season can play central defence and right back which is good to have, Did himself no harm as well today getting forward well and delivering a pin-point cross to McCormack’s head for the 2nd goal. Looks a top player and I hope he gets a run in the team this year! - 7
Charlie Taylor – Another player that was great to see get a run-out today albeit only for 2 minutes, but he’s made his Leeds Untied debut now and that will only improve his confidence and give him a sense that he can succeed at this club. – N/A
Leigh Bromby – I like Bromby as a player, never seems to do too much wrong but doesn’t really seem to get a good run in the team, when I’ve seen him play for Leeds he’s always done a good job. Could maybe replace the faltering O’Brien at centre back. It will be between him and Lee’s to who gets that slot! - 6
