Liverpool Vs Valerenga
3-3: Pre-Season Friendly!
01/08/2011

RATINGS:
Pepe Reina - Solid display from Pepe today, did nothing wrong and had no chance at all with the goals he conceded - 6
Glen Johnson - Didn’t get tight enough to the left winger when he crossed for the first goal, still needs to work on his game defensively and was strangely quiet going forward today - 5
Jamie Carragher - not a bad performance by any means but at times today I thought he was a bit sluggish when turning to chase attackers, but still not too bad from the loyal red - 5
Daniel Agger - My MOTM! Great performance from this lad today first half he seemed to be holding the defence together on his own, strong in the air and on the ground and scored 2 goals in the 2nd half, top showing from the Denmark International - 9
Jack Robinson  - Not too bad from the youngster tried to get forward but lacked the final ball at times, still has a lot to learn defensively as he was caught out a few times in behind, but I’m sure that will come with age and experience - 5
Jordan Henderson  - Massive price tag to live up to and he didn’t do that today, didn’t really get himself involved in the game enough, needs to have more of the ball and try to stamp his authority on the game, 1 good cross and that was about it - 5
Stewart Downing - Decent performance from another man with a big price tag, looked like he was trying to make an impression today with some good movement and nippy passing and footwork, played well and got an assist for Andy Carroll’s first goal - 7
Charlie Adam - Did ok today, nothing outstanding but kept the ball moving well at times and showed his good range of passing on occasions, still gave the ball away a few too many times though slow at turning and gave away the penalty early on - 6
Jay Spearing - Not the worst performance from this guy but I expected him to impose himself with strong tackles a bit more and get stuck in breaking up opponents moves didn’t really see that from him today which disappointed me as I had been impressed on the previous occasions I’ve seen him play - 5.5
Dirk Kuyt - Didn’t really do much if I’m honest, got the usual hard working performance from him but up front you need a bit more from him, need a bit more linking of play but not the worst display and will be a big player for pool this season - 5.5
Andy Carroll - Got his goal today nice chest control and volleyed into the net, still think he’s better alongside Suarez which I’m sure we'll see more of next season - 7
SUBS:
Doni - Didn’t get on the pitch - N/A
David N'Gog - Did well when he came on a few nice little runs but wasn’t on long enough to give a full review - 6
Stephen Sama - Think this lad came on for the last 2 minutes but not sure, obviously not enough time to judge him - N/A
Raheem Sterling - Came on for the last 15-20 mins looked good, very pacy and got a couple of decent crosses in, looks a hot prospect for the future - 6.5
John Flanagan - Came on in an unusual left back position (usually a right back) but did ok not on long enough to give a full review though - 6
Alberto Aquilani - Came on and brought a buzz to Liverpool’s game, looked really impressive a couple of cracking shots that pulled the best out of the opposition goalkeeper, he looked really good and I’m sure Liverpool fans are happy to have him back after an impressive season last year for Juventus - 7
