Fabregas to Barcelona nears completion
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is close to signing for European champions Barcelona for a fee believed to be about £35m.The transfer, one of the most protracted in Premier League history, is yet to be completed but Arsenal expect it to be done by the weekend.According to a senior source at the club, all the funds generated by the sale will be reinvested in new players.Arsenal have been linked with Scott Dann, Phil Jagielka and Gary Cahill. www.bbc.co.uk
Well, it finally looks like this move is going to go through, im sure all Arsenal fans will be sad to see him go but i guess they may also be happy that this transfer saga is finally coming to an end and they can focus on working with a team where all players want to stay. I feel what they need to do now is build a team around the young Englishman Jack Wilshere, he can replace Fabregas in my opinion and maybe Fabregas moving on will give him more freedom in midfield. The thing arsenal fans will be looking at is, will the money earned from the Fabregas deal be spent to improve the team, they have been linked with the likes of Mata and Jagielka surely these signings could be achieved with the cash from the deal. The pressure is on Arsene!
