Liverpool agree price for
Jose Enrique

Liverpool have agreed a fee with Newcastle for Spanish defender Jose Enrique.
The 25-year-old left-back joined Newcastle for £6.3m in 2007 but hit out at the club last month on Twitter. Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has been looking for a left-back since selling Paul Konchesky to Leicester earlier this summer. The Reds will now discuss personal terms with the player, who will travel to Liverpool to undergo a medical. www.bbc.co.uk
Would be a great signing for Liverpool in my opinion, Ive been a big admirer of Enrique for a while now cant believe Arsenal didn't make a move for him as well as they could do with a solid reliable left back. What i like about Jose is that he defends really well his positional sense is great, he doesn't get drawn into unnecessary challenges but he can also get forward really well and has a great left foot and can deliver some real meaningful crosses. If Liverpool get him it makes their defence look a lot more solid, with Glen Johnson able to slot back in at right back and probably Carragher and Agger in central defence. Could be a good season for Liverpool this year!
