West Ham United Vs Cardiff City
0-1: Championship

RATINGS:
Cardiff City:
David Marshall – My MOTM! Really impressive display today from Marshall, a decent block from Piquionne shot early on which saved Hudson’s blushes, another good save from a Taylor free-kick, another cracking save from a Matt Taylor effort which he tipped around the post. Along with the good saves he also looked really assured, good handling and took the ball well from a couple of corners when under pressure. - 8.5
Kevin McNaughton – Defended really well throughout the game, didnt give the West Ham left winger a chance, Decent display from him. - 7
Anthony Gerrard – Very impressive display from him today, made no mistakes during the game looked solid and won a lot in the air. - 7
Anthony Gerrard – Very impressive display from him today, made no mistakes during the game looked solid and won a lot in the air. - 7
Mark Hudson – In the first half a little bit of poor defensive play almost cost a goal, when he dwelled on the ball then sold a pass back short which let Piquionne get a run in and shot, apart from the mistake early on though he looked pretty solid, West ham didn’t create much which is always a good sign if you’re a defender. – 6.5
Andrew Taylor – Looked pretty solid today from the new left back, looks really composed when defending under pressure and also got forward well at times to help out down the left, a decent display. -6
Craig Conway – Played a couple of decent balls across during the game but still not at his best, over-hit a few crosses and needs to get on the ball more. - 6
Aron Gunnarson - Normally a long throw expert, but not today all his throw-ins went straight out of play, not a great performance from him today didn’t seem to bring much to Cardiff’s play. Needs to show a bit more quality to hold down a regular place. - 5.5
Don Cowie – Looked ok when he got the ball doesn’t have any searing pace, but needs to get on the ball more and get some more crosses in for the likes of Earnshaw and Miller. - 6
Peter Whittingham – At the start of the game he wasn’t involved enough, but got more involved as the game went on which is when Cardiff started playing better, stronger in the second half. -6.5
Robert Earnshaw – Tough game for Earnshaw today, wasn’t really been given the service that he wants, a lot of high balls forward, early on looked good though had a decent effort on goal that went just wide, also got caught offside quite a lot but I think that was just out of frustration. - 6
Kenny Miller – 1st half wasn’t great from Kenny, didn’t really have many touches at all and when he did get a touch he seemed to give away possession. Was also caught offside a few times in the first half think he was getting a bit frustrated with the service he was getting. But late on he showed his goal scoring credentials, his only shot of the game was a goal! Great play from Gestede and Kenny took a touch and finished it into the left of the goal. - 7
SUBS:
Rudy Gestede – Really impressed with him when he came on, did more than Miller and Earnshaw combined did in the first half, had a header wide a second after coming on, closed everything down well and then hassled Ilunga into a mistake late on and went on and grabbed an assist. – 8
Joe Mason – Didn’t see enough of him to give a rating, played the last 10 mins, - N/A
