Carling Cup
Well a day of quite a few upsets today in the Carling Cup, Morecambe defeating Chmpionship side Barnsley 2-0 is a cracking result for them, Barnsley definately need to get a formation working and quick, Another turn up for the books Coventry getting beat 3-1 against Bury! A great result for Bury and im sure that will give them great confidence for the league matches now. At 1 point it looked like Shrewsbury were going to give Derby a thrashing but in the end the final score was 3-2, slightly more respectable for Derby but still a loss against a team from League 2, Another couple of big reults Macclesfield and Northampton beat Hull and Ipswich respectively. Leeds were given a big scare by Bradford at Elland Road, Bradford took the lead early on, leeds equalised then Bradford went ahead again with a brilliant strike and at that point you wondered if it wasnt going to be leeds night :/ But full credit to leeds they came back strong with a goal from McCormack and Nunez to steal the win!
Not a great night for the Championship clubs on a whole but thats the magic of a cup competition!
